Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi: Ganges

About

Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi – Gian Lorenzo Bernini, 1651 – sits in the Piazza Navona, Rome, Italy. In english, it is known as the Four Rivers Fountain. Four figures surround a central obelisk, each representing a different river around the world; the Nile, the Danube, the River de la Plata, and the Ganges. This particular figure personifies the Ganges. He holds an oar representing the river being easy to navigate.

This is one of my largest works measuring 23 by 30 inches. It was one of the last pieces I made before moving from Montana.
